The architect

Our course was created in 1910

Since 1910, our members compete with pride for their club. They appreciate the golf course for the precision every shot requires, for the quality of its greens and especially because it gives you the opportunity to play golf in what is noblest; true competition with oneself.

The Country Club of Montreal is one of the leading private golf clubs in Quebec. The Country Club of Montreal offers an 18-hole course considered one of the best that Quebec has to offer. A par 72 with five levels of markers from 5286 to 6725 yards thus providing an interesting challenge for all levels of play.

Redesigned in 1974

Roy Dye, of Pete Dye and Associates, redesigned the course layout in 1974. Our golf course thus presents an interesting challenge and combines modern architecture and classic environment.

The accuracy of your shot making is extremely important on the course. Each fairway is lined with trees (some centennial) and other boundaries where any errant shot proves costly. The narrow fairways and bunkers near the edge of the green can only encourage you to focus on precision rather than power. The course has no fairway bunker.

Finally, although a little hilly, the greens are small, fast and of high quality. During the height of the season, their speed varies between 9.5 and 11.0 on the stimpmeter.
The tees, fairways and greens are annual blue grass (Poa annua).
