Our Junior Programs

Junior Golf Clinics

Golf director Francis Bergeron and his team of professionals offer a program of clinics based on the different aspects of the game. This program is provided free of charge to all young golfers (10 to 18 years old) who are members of the Club.

Youngsters from 6 to 9 years old who are accompanied by a parent can participate in our introduction-to-golf clinics. Parents can then play a short round of golf with the future golfers.

Junior Golf Camps

Three-day camps are offered to juniors and give them the opportunity to learn the various technical golf strokes.

  • Day 1: Presentation of the program and the camp’s rules of conduct. Introduction to the various basic stances, complete swing, chipping and putting.
  • Day 2: Practice of the complete swing with video. Mechanization of the all the moves.
  • Day 3: Two- or three-hole round of golf with a professional. Supervised practice and analysis of the recorded video clips.

Supervised practices

We provide our young golfers with supervised practice sessions in order to allow them to continually improve their game. These practices are under the supervision of Mikaël Brunet-Frappier as well as the Club’s team of professionals.

During each of these sessions, we offer them various exercises related to the following aspects of golf:

  • putting;
  • approach shots and shots from a sand trap;
  • long iron shots.

Mikaël will establish the goals for each of the participants in order to help them improve their game.

Order of Merit

The Juniors' order of merit is a classification system whose goal is to reward juniors who have participated in the greatest number of activities throughout the golf season while demonstrating exemplary behaviour. All young members are eligible for this classification.

The young member who participates in the activities listed below receives the following points:

  • 2 points: information meeting at the beginning of the season
  • 2 points: clinics led by the team of professionals
  • 2 points: attendance at supervised practices
  • 2 points: participation in the various fund-raising activities
  • 1 or 2 points: any other activity identified by the committee
  • 1 or 2 points: internal tournaments
  • 1 or 2 points: external tournaments

Young members can lose points if their behaviour leaves something to be desired or if they are the object of one or more complaints. We will post the up-to-date ranking near the Juniors’ locker rooms so they can see the changes in their personal charts. At the end of the season, the junior (boy or girl) with the most points will be designated as the “Junior of the Year” and will receive a surprise award at the Juniors’ closing dinner.
